Helinick and NEC, dialog partners at the Conference and General Assembly of the Association of airports from Romania

Felix, 11th of October 2016: Helinick and NEC attended the 24th Conference and General meeting of the Association of Airports from Romania(A.A.R.)

The Conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of transportation, the Romanian intelligence service, the Romanian police and the border police. Also, the event brought together executives from the Romanian civil aviation authority and ROMATSA, Presidents of County Councils, airport directors from Romania, as well as representatives of airlines and operators in the country and abroad, working in the area of airport.

Mihai Gheorghe, in charge of Product within the Helinick team presented during the Conference, professional facial recognition solutions provided by NEC, allowing identification of individuals by capturing video of facial features and comparing them with photographs of subjects that are stored in the database of the system.

Facial recognition is a technology that has evolved significantly in the last decade and reached a high level of accuracy that delivers real benefits to users, but there are a number of factors that may influence the rate of recognition. For measuring the level of precision systems for facial recognition, institutes in the field of research, as well as the NIST-National Institute of Standards and Technology, carried out the annual testing of the solutions offered by the biggest manufacturers in the industry, the solution NEC (NeoFace)being ranked in first place, having the most low error rate and the fastest algorithm for facial detection.
