With over 100.000 smoke detectors installed, over 900 extinguishing systems and over 200 aspiration fire detection systems detection systems, we are leaders on the market and we provide a unique expertise into the field.

    Fire detection and signalling systems

The provide intelligent and innovative systems that ensure an incipient detection, a precise location of any fire advent, a set of immediate actions and a local and/or remote signalling. Our systems are scalable from a few up to more than 32000 detection points.

We guarantee an extremely reduced rate of false alarms and we use all technologies available on the market:

We integrate the fire detection systems with the warning and evacuation systems, with local extinguishing systems, with toxic gas emission detection (CO and CH4), with smoke and hot gases evacuation systems, with door control systems on the evacuation paths and we control the elevators or technological supplies with gases. The equipments are manufactured pursuant to standards EN-54, VdS and in some cases, NFP72, and the systems designed&installed by us are approved by the authorized MLPTL verifiers.

Addressable fire panels, fire panels networks

Client may, upon request, have access to information required for the work performance, directly on the www.helinick.ro web-site, based on individual password.

The addressable detection fire panels are more advanced than the conventional fire panels, with a higher degree of flexibility in programming and with the possibility of a punctual localization of alarm state detector. Each fire panels may be equipped with a number of signalling circuits, called as detection loops, which vary according to the producer from 1 to 30 loops. A detection loop, according to the used communication protocol, may monitor and control hundreds of devices. Some protocols allow any combination between detectors, manual buttons for fire signalling and entry/ exit modules, while other protocols have 50% capacity which is limited to detectors/ sensors and 50% which is limited to input/ output systems.

Each device connected on the loop has its own address and detection fire panel sheet and it knows the state of each device, at any moment in time.

The usual elements that may be connected on the addressable loop are the following:

The working principle of a network of fire detection and signalling fire panels supposes the connection of many panels so as to form a system. Any detection element from a panel may activate an exit from another panel.

The fire panels network is a very efficient solution in such cases where the capacity of a detection fire panels is not great enough so as to monitor the number of detection points that are necessary into the system or in cases where the system monitors a group of buildings, large industrial plant, etc.

Recently, some fire panels have the capacity of being connected to a standard Ethernet network, but there are a few providers that offer such a facility.
Individual addressable systems or networks of addressable fire panels have the possibility of being connected to a graphic monitoring and control software, GUI (graphical users interface) which helps a lot the operator when an alarm is activated.

Automatic detectors, buttons , I/O interfaces

The automatic detectors are of many types:

A smoke detector is a device that detects smoke, based on the principle of light refraction, as an alarm generating element. In the absence of smoke, the lights passes through a straight line detector, and when the smoke enters the optical chamber, it stops the light beam that shall be spread by the smoke particles, guiding it to the sensor and thus triggering the alarm.

The temperature detectors work according to the principle of temperature monitoring into the protected area, by means of a thermistor. According to each type, they may trigger an alarm upon the very fast increase of temperature (fast modification of the temperature gradient) or upon the touch of a preset temperature threshold. These detectors are used in spaces where the smoke advent does not necessarily mean a fire triggering (areas where smoking is not forbidden, kitchens, etc).

Multi – criteria detectors combine two or three detection principles – smoke advent and temperature increase, or signalling of gases discharged at the beginning of a fire, the alarm is triggered by one of the detection principles, but the perception of the others’ modification lead to detector sensitivity for the main parameter.

Ultrafast detection by aspiration (High Sensitivity Smoke Detection)

Detections by forced aspiration and laser based technology are the most advanced detection related technologies that ensure the users’ alert at the beginning of fire advent, offering precious seconds or minutes for automatic or manual interventions, which imply low costs and resources.

Most of aspiration smoke detectors work by a continuous sampling of air into a network of pipes. The sampling holes of each pipe forms a matrix, providing a uniform distribution into the entire duct network. The air samples pass through a very sensitive optical device, in some cases through a laser detector, which is adjusted so as to detect extremely small combustion particles. The detectors with air samples may be used for triggering the alarm in case of a fire alarm, of a fire extinguishing system with clean gaseous, into the areas with high concentrations such as archives, server rooms, etc.

The detectors with aspiration are up to 1000 times more sensitive than the punctual smoke detectors and they may be programmed so as to generate more alarm threshold levels: alert, action, fire 1 alert and fire 2 alert. These thresholds may be set into a wide range of smoke concentration levels. These levels allow a different signalling of fire occurrences as opposed to the punctual smoke detection and they allow a manual intervention or the activation of automatic extinguishing systems before the fire is developed, thus the time available for evacuations and minimizing the fire caused damage is increased.

This technology covers A and B sensitivity classes, it is described in standard EN-54-20 and it is recommended where the business/ continuity is put at a major risk, due to a fire advent, where a fire advent is difficult to detect by using the classic technology, where the technical personnel’s access to the maintenance procedures is difficult or impossible, into those applications where an “invisible” detection technology is desired and where the architects specify and demands it, as a first detection and alert phase for the extinguishing systems by total flooding with clean agents, where the environmental conditions are difficult and the classic technology does not provide acceptable results

    Linear temperature detection

A digital or analogue interface assesses the temperature fluctuations by means of a continuous monitoring of the resistance related to the special cable with polymeric insulation.
This change is run by an assessment and control unit that generates an alarm signal at a pre-defined level. The linear detection allows us to detect a temperature peak or a slight temperature increase all across the cable.
It is mandatory that the cable insulation is not subject to temperatures higher than 120 °C for a long time. Upon destruction of the cable insulation, the assessment unit will be permanently in alarm state.

    Applications:

    IR barrier smoke linear detection

In huge spaces (large atriums), from the point of view of economic efficiency, it is often that IR barrier smoke linear detectors are used. The working principles consist of emitting an IR fascicle by an emitter to a receiver that is found into the opposite part of the chamber, or to a mirror that is found into the other part of the chamber, which reflects the fascicle back to the emitter. When the fascicle is stopped on the route from the emitter to the receiver, it sends an alarm signal to the detection plant.

IR, UV and IR & UV flame detection

Infrared flame detectors are used to detect the open fire in closed chambers or in free spaces. They are specially designed for detecting the fires triggered by liquids that do not produce smoke or gases.

The typical application fields are the following:

Automatic detection for rack 19” systems

“One-U” is a unique detection system by aspiration, specially manufactured to protect the 19” racks and IT facilities that use such a technology. The system benefits from a detection technology by aspiration and it may protect up to a maximum of 5 racks, being fitted with monitoring and alert facilities.
There is a special module with “one-U” into the same chassis and it includes the extinguishing system with Novec-1230.

    Fire extinguishing systems

With over 900 extinguishing systems installed in Romania, we are an undisputed leader with a unique expertise.

The effects that the fire causes may be catastrophic.
